Bosnian Cuisine: Bosanski Lonac (Bosnian Pot)



Ingredients:
2lb beef or lamb, diced 1 cabbage, 2-3 carrots, 3-4 large tomatoes, 3-4 large potatoes, 2 onions, 2 or more cloves garlic, sliced 2 green bell peppers, 1/2 tbsp cooking oil, 1/2 tbsp vinegar salt, and pepper to taste

Total time (prep and cooking): 2 hours 30 minutes

Preparation:

Dice all the vegetables. Combine with the meat and seasonings in a large pot. Add enough water to completely cover the mixture, then add the oil and vinegar. Cook, covered, for two to three hours on low heat, until everything is well done. Serve with pita bread.

COMMENT: It tastes better than it looks. And of course that the real recipe for this is much more complicated. I might update it, if I ever ask my grandmother for the recipe. But, until that time - enjoy in this one! ... I choke in this pot. XD But I take only the potatoes from it. When I was little my mother used to put meat on my plate although I didn't wanted it... Ah, the good times... ^^

Btw, I LOVE pita bread!! I only eat it when I eat Turkish or Mexican dishes, cuz we don't serve it with Spanish food,but I love it anyways!!

You know, at our country, pita bread is called 'somun'.
....so...... Did you tried cooking it?
